Customers at ECL Saffron Walden, a day centre for adults with learning disabilities, have been busy learning how to prepare and cook food from other parts of the world.

The Austrian Pancake (Palatschinken) session is part of the World Food Project offering at the centre. Ten customers at the hub have been involved.

Joan, Community Support Worker who supports the project said; “In August, our customers decided to feature Austria and as part of their research. Palatschiken is one of the most common foods served in the country. The customers learned about Austrian culture and traditions through this activity. All of the customers said they enjoyed the activity, they like being involved in food preparation. Customers took home their cooked foods and feedback from families of those involved was very positive.”

Open: Monday - Friday: 9.00 am – 4.00 pm
