Team of the Month

This month’s Team of the Month is ECL Ashleigh Day Opportunities in Basildon. Throughout the Covid-19 situation, the team have adapted their processes and come up with creative ideas in order to be able to continue to provide a service to the customers.

This has included daily welfare calls to customers during lockdown and three customer-led Zoom session per day, including quizzes, cook-alongs and coffee mornings.

For those customers who haven’t been engaging with the virtual sessions, the team have arranged meet-ups in a local park and activity packs to complete at home.

The team have also been supporting other areas of the business, with six Ashleigh employees putting themselves forward to work at our temporary Step-2-Home residential reablement service and one member transferring to our Community Equipment service.

A huge ‘thank you’ and ‘well done’ to the team for your hard work during this challenging time.

Star of the Month

Our Star of the Month is Robert from ECL Woodlands Day Opportunities in Colchester.

Robert has been working hard throughout Covid-19 to support customers to stay connected to the service via both technology and garden visits.

As part of our Alcove initiative with ECC, Robert has been installing Alcove devices in selected customer’s homes and instructing on how to use them.

He has also been creating a weekly Zoom timetable for our customers at Woodlands and Plough Corner, to provide fun and engaging virtual sessions.

For those customers that have been identified as requiring face-to-face interaction, he has been arranging garden visits.

Robert is an invaluable staff member who always goes over and above within his role – the support Robert has given not only to customers but also to our staff team has been outstanding. Thank you, Robert!
