Pick your own fruit is a great day out for ECL customers
Saffron Walden customers do some fruit harvesting.
Picking your own fruit offers a fun way to get quality fruit at a better price but also provides a great day out for all.
12 customers from Saffron Walden Wellbeing Hub did just that. They visited Cammas Hall Farm in Hatfield Broadoak, a family run business since 1888, on Wednesday 3rd August as part of their World Food Project offering.
Joan, Community Support Worker who supports the project organised said; “The purpose of the visit was to give the customers an insight into food harvesting and promoting the importance of eating fresh fruit. On the day we picked a variety of fruits such as Raspberries, Strawberries and Blackberries.”
After a hard day’s work in the fields, they all enjoyed a picnic lunch and some of their pickings.
