Local Business Manager - South West Essex (Basildon & surrounding areas)

ECL, the leading provider of care and support services in Essex, are looking for an exceptional individual to strengthen their management team through the appointment of a Local Business Manager who will help to develop our regulated service based in Basildon.

This is an exciting time to join us to support and develop our Short term Support in the Community Programme. You will be instrumental in developing our business objectives and integral to this will be your role in transforming into a market leading service.

We are looking for a highly motivated Manager who is committed to the principles of ordinary living and who demonstrates a clear understanding of current legislation and good support practice. You will promote a culture that enables our customers to make informed choices through creative means of communication and person centered support planning.

You will manage, lead and inspire a team to ensure the delivery of high standards of support, forging strong and productive partnerships with key stakeholders and the local community whilst setting and operating within agreed budgets. You will be responsible for the daily coordination of services and have the skills to motivate and empower a workforce to deliver a service which supports people to maintain their independence.

The successful candidate will be highly motivated and have the ability to influence, problem solve and make decisions. They will have excellent communication skills, demonstrate flexibility, adaptability and a positive ‘can do’ attitude.

Educated to QCF Diploma or NVQ Level 3 or above in relevant area or willing to gain the qualification in a short period of time, you will have effective communication skills, proven management or supervisory skills in the care sector coupled with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.

The working week is Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm. The Local Business Manager on call weekend rota is currently 1 in 8 to cover the hours between 7am to 11pm.

As this role requires travel around the community, a car driver with their own vehicle is essential.
