Award winning toys from Saffron Walden Carpentry

< Return to Blog list | Nov 21, 2014

In October 2014 Saffron Walden Carpentry received some very exciting news! Play to Z, a sensory toy company based in Colchester and stockist of the Baby Curve produced by Saffron Carpentry, was nominated for the Junior Toy Award 2014.

Coming up against some stiff competition such as the Stieff jointed bear, Wishbone Balance Bike (2013 winner), and the Hippichick’s Moover pram, the staff and customers at Saffron Walden were delighted to be nominated.

So you can imagine the excitement around the workshop when the news broke that the Baby Curve was this year’s winner.

Jon, Training & Employment Locality Co-ordinator at Saffron Carpentry said:

“The customers at Saffron Carpentry work extremely hard to deliver high quality products, so when we found out that one of our toys had won an award we were beyond delighted!

Saffron Carpentry is a work based training unit for customers with learning disabilities, who make a variety of products from toys all the way through to chopping boards. They are so proud that their handmade product is being showcased at such a professional level.”

and the winner is.... Saffron Walden Carpentry
