Guest Blogger Teri Sawkins: A Rewarding Night

Well here we are in June already and it has been a time of real highs and lows. On May 15th May Essex Cares Sensory Team attended an awards evening in Birmingham after being nominated for the Learning Disabilities and Autism Breaking Barriers Award. A great night was had by all and even though we did not win the award it was great to have our work recognised as being a much needed service across the whole of the community. The high standard of our training is frequently reflected in the feedback we get and we ‘ASPIRE’ to go from strength to strength with this as all the trainers, The Sensory Team have a real passion for what we do and achieve.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Annette MBE and Anita (Sensory Team volunteers) as I know National Volunteers Week is upon us and these two dedicated and professional ladies give up so much of their personal time to make our sensory awareness training the success it is. I am privileged and humbled to work with you and to call you friends. You give me inspiration and dedication for which I can never thank you enough.
