Violet turns 100!

< Return to Blog list | Jan 26, 2016

Last week we had the honour of celebrating Violet’s 100th birthday, a customer at our Hogarth & Lions Wellbeing Hub, Brentwood.

Violet was surrounded by her loved ones on the big day with her close friends Elsie, Eileen and the two Dot’s helping her tuck in to a delicious Victoria sponge.

“I’ve been so overwhelmed by the celebrations at the centre. It’s been a wonderful day!”

Born in 1916, Violet has lived through two World Wars and has watched the world dramatically change around her. A talented seamstress, she watched technology develop from its primary stages including the machines she used throughout her career.

When we asked Violet what’s her elixir: “Scrabble! Keeping the mind active is my big secret to a long life.”

Hope you had a great birthday Violet.
