Carl gets creative at Copy Cats

Carl, 25, attends Copy Cats, an ECL printing business providing Work Based Training in printing, design and reprographics for adults with learning disabilities.

“Before I attended, I had never heard of Photoshop and InDesign. The staff have been so patient, teaching me how to work on different programmes which has helped me to become more confident. I feel like I have a new lease of life. My biggest achievement was putting my design skills to use by making some business cards for my dad’s taxi business. He was so surprised and pleased with the new skills I’ve learned at Copy Cats.”

I also work in the carpentry workshop at the Saffron Walden Wellbeing Hub where we make planters, bird feeders and lots more. When I am not working at Copy Cats, I volunteer for the British Heart Foundation in Saffron Walden town centre. This helps me to meet new people as it gets me out and about which really helps my confidence.

Janice who supports Carl said: “ We work with a lot of external clients and our customers, including Carl, research design ideas for the client and we support them to put it together. We are a team here and we enjoy working with our customers.”
