ECL Cafes and catering

Our café, catering and hospitality training enterprises, are based in a variety of locations including public garden centres, libraries and ECL centres.

Our cafes offer practical training alongside ASDAN accredited courses in customer service and catering, within a cosy coffee-shop environment.

Alongside customer service, food preparation and coffee making skills, we support trainees to learn all aspects of hospitality including till training, buffet service for events, ordering of stock, money-handling experience, food hygiene and health & safety essentials.

Our teams provide catering to local external businesses, gaining vital experience that could lead to paid employment in the local area.

ECL Drama

Our drama enterprises are based in either a local community location or in one of the ECL centres.

Using music, dance and drama, participants get the chance to learn social, communication, motor and life skills as well as promote community inclusion, independence and sign language.

The drama groups provide the opportunity to act and perform in plays as well as sewing and making costumes and props for the productions.

This is an ideal opportunity to learn to work as part of a team and build friendships.

We aim to put on at least one full-scale production per year, which is open to the general public. We also participate in other events around Essex.
