About this hub

Walter Boyce Wellbeing Hub ensures that your support needs are met in a personalised and flexible way so that you can live as independently as possible in your local community. We’re here to help you have the choice and control to enjoy living life the way you choose. Speak to a member of our team to discuss prices.

Programmes are tailored to your individual needs and personal goals. Our Trusted Assessors will help you to develop your own plan and our care team will support you step by step throughout the journey to follow that plan and reach your goals.

We had a customer who started the service recently who was very shy and reluctant to participate or engage in conversation with others. With the support of staff and other customers in just a few short weeks he has grown in confidence, with his sister relaying feedback that he is ‘blossoming’ and displaying a real positive change when he’s at home. We love seeing our customers flourish and enjoying all that Walter Boyce Wellbeing Hub has to offer.

Work Based Training

Here we also offer vocational Work Based Training within our social enterprises which will help build your knowledge, skills and confidence. Guided by our friendly Support Workers, we’ll help you gain valuable work based experience that will give you opportunity for paid employment in the future. We are a Hub which provides ASDAN accreditation, so learning modules receive appropriate reward and recognition.

There are two fully functioning enterprises in and outside the hub. These are Tasty Bites Café located within the Hub and also the Book Rest Café located within Brentwood Library. These services both teach skills dedicated to the catering sector.

Your experience with our Work Based Training services will start by meeting one of our Trusted Assessors who will support you to set goals for the future. We’ll work with you on this and help set a programme to get you there. As you work through our programme you’ll be gaining new skills in the catering and hospitality industry and working towards your hopes for the future.

Download our Work Based Training brochure, which contains full information about all of our Work Based Training enterprises based across Essex.

Prices will depend on the length of your session(s) and the level of support you need. As an example a full day with one of our services would typically start at around £58. Please note that you will be assessed on the levels of support you need.
