ECL opens new day service for older people in Braintree

We are pleased to announce that we have opened a brand-new service from our existing site on Turnpike Lane in Braintree. The new service supports older people and those living with a diagnosis of dementia.

The new service has been launched to provide a range of tailored community-based activities to support individuals to enhance their quality of life by maintaining their independence and increasing social interactions.

We offer a modern approach, holistic therapy, up-to-date technologies and expertise from our in-house clinical team, as well as being able to access specialised equipment.

In line with current Covid-19 regulations, all ECL sites, including Braintree, are Covid-Secure. This includes high levels of PPE, cleaning regimes, enhanced training for all staff, as well as risk assessments and social distancing measures. These are continuously reviewed as guidance is updated.

We are absolutely thrilled to have opened our new service for older people in Braintree. We are aware that local services of this type are limited, especially since the start of Covid-19, so it is great to be able to offer support to older people and their families during this time. Our team at ECL Braintree have a wealth of knowledge and experience, and are able to support adults with a range of care needs, including dementia and Parkinsons. We are also busy building connections with other local community groups and organisations, including Alzheimer’s Society to provide even more opportunities for our customers.

Patricia recently joined the service at Braintree. Her daughter Annett says that her mum is not only enjoying her days with ECL, but that it is having a positive impact on her wellbeing too:

Since Mum has been coming to the Older People service it is like having old Mum back; she is eating more and with minimal support, she is more engaging and wanting to do things, she is more alert and wanted to mobilise more.
