Our training courses provide help for individuals and organisations to better meet the needs of people with sight and/or hearing loss.

Our team of sensory specialists deliver courses to highlight how sensory loss impacts individuals, and outlines how to make the world more accessible for people who are partially sighted, blind, hard of hearing, deaf or deafblind.

British Sign Language (BSL) Courses:
British Sign Language is a visual means of communicating using gestures, facial expression and body language with its own vocabulary, grammar and syntax, used by over 150,000 adults in the UK – according to British Deaf Association (BDA). But for those who use it, BSL is more than a communication tool; it is a bridge to inclusivity, linking the deaf and hearing communities and allowing for seamless, respectful interaction.
Venue: ECL, Ravensbourne Drive, Chelmsford, CM1 2SL (Free Parking available on site)
Start Date: Every Monday commencing from the 8th of September 2025 to the 8th of June 2026 (term time only)
Course Time: Two separate sessions available at either 5PM-7PM or 7:30PM-9:30PM
Course Tutor: Jason Ellis
Course Cost: £550pp (This includes exam fees)

At the end of the qualification individuals will be able to:
- Understand and use a limited range of simple vocabulary to form sentences in BSL
- Take part in simple, everyday conversations in BSL
- Give and follow simple directions and instructions in BSL
- Give and follow simple and familiar statements or descriptions in BSL
Places will be offered on a first come, first served basis. To secure your place will be required to make a £100 non-refundable deposit.
The payment scheme comprises of 5 monthly payments (April-August) payable on the 1st of every month of £90 per month after the initial holding deposit of £100 has been made.
