When Hannah decided to move on from her role supporting elderly people living with dementia in a nursing home, she carefully researched new opportunities. After trawling through listings for care jobs in West Sussex to no avail, she came across an exciting vacancy with ECL and the company’s positive reviews spoke for themselves…

I remember the laughter that could be heard on my induction days - everyone seemed so happy to be working there together

Having worked with adults with learning disabilities and in nursing care homes for people living with dementia for many years, Hannah was ready to try something new. While she relished the thought of a change of career, she knew she wanted to remain in the care industry and set about searching for a role which would challenge her while allowing her to stay in the sector she loved.

Her job search led her to a vacancy for a Trusted Assessor with ECL. Hannah says, “I was instantly attracted to the position, but before applying I wanted to make sure the company was going to be right for me. I read through all the reviews online from current and past employees and they were overwhelmingly positive, so I felt confident that ECL supported its staff and promoted career development. Now that I work here, I know that’s true.”

Despite her nerves, Hannah sailed through the interview process and was offered the job on the very same day. “I was relieved to get a decision so quickly, and absolutely over the moon that I’d been successful,” she says. “Everyone made me feel relaxed and comfortable from the moment I walked in. I still remember the laughter that could be heard on my induction days – everyone seemed so happy to be working there together and it cemented my view that I’d made the right choice in joining the team.”

Having had several jobs in the care industry, Hannah feels that ECL’s training is the best she’s seen. She says, “My initial induction and training covered everything – it was the most informative I’ve had since I started my career in care. I was also reassured by the fact that I was given as much time as I needed to shadow other members of the team. Arming me with as much knowledge as possible was the most important thing and I know that help is only ever a phone call away.”

Now settled into life at ECL, it’s clear to Hannah that the company has earned its positive reviews. “The best thing about working here is knowing that the team are always looking out for you and want you to succeed,” she says. “If you’re thinking about applying, I’d say stop thinking and go for it!”
