Dementia specialists

As a Gold Accredited dementia support provider, our day centres employ best practice and use the latest techniques to support health and wellbeing for those living with dementia.

Our team are highly trained to support individuals living with dementia and Alzheimer’s, meaning your loved one is in safe hands with us.

All day centre staff have undertaken dementia levels 1 and 2 and active support training and some staff have further qualifications including Level 6 Caring for people with dementia.

All our activities are tailored to ensure all customers can join in by working towards their support plan which is regularly reviewed and updated. We use a variety of techniques in support of this which may include shortened sessions, prompting, visual aids and a variety of different equipment.

Dementia friendly environment

Many of our day centres have received a coveted Gold Accreditation from the Dementia Services Development Centre (DSDC) at the University of Stirling. A highly regarded accolade given to environments which are accessible and engaging for those living with Alzheimer’s and dementia. All of our day services work within these principles and values.

All our Older People Day Centres are secure, meaning you don’t need to worry about your loved one wandering outside unaccompanied.

Most of our centres employ dementia friendly way-finding signage and contrasting colours, which help customers navigate around our day centres.

Therapeutic approaches

As dementia specialists, we employ the latest best practices to deliver the highest standards of care.

Customers create journals of their life story, proven to enhance identity and purpose, improve communication and build relationships.

Doll and Pet therapy provides therapeutic engagement, increases happiness, and reduces episodes of distress. We have dedicated nurseries where customers can go to ‘nurture’ and all of our centers have a regular visit from a furry friend.
