ECL Braintree Day Centre

Our customers are involved in the planning of a weekly therapeutic programme of activities at our day centre. You will be encouraged to choose your activities based on your personal interests and the goals you wish to reach.

There are signing stars sessions for those who enjoy singing, want to build their confidence, or improve their makaton sign language.

'Shop and Cook' and baking are popular activities amongst those who want to practise their independent living skills, and you will have the opportunity to follow a certified ASDAN programme in independent living.

We have many arts and craft sessions when you can explore your creative side and learn about important dates and events in the calendar.

Other activities on offer include musical bingo, karaoke, quizzes, and a film club on a Friday afternoon.

At ECL Braintree we have the knowledge, skills, and facilities to provide expert care for those with more profound learning disabilities, complex health needs and those in wheelchairs or with limited mobility.

We can give 1:1 or 2:1 care in line with your support plan.

We receive specialist training in:

• Moving and handling
• Hoisting
• Communication
• Sensory awareness
• Mental health awareness
• Behaviours that challenge

Our staff are trained to support customers with their physiotherapy plans and sensory needs. We are fortunate to have access to ECL's in-house clinical team and have well equipped physiotherapy and sensory rooms at the centre.

We can also support people with moderate learning disabilities and will create a personalised plan that will help you work towards your goals, whether that be to achieve greater independence, lead a healthier lifestyle, build friendships or support networks, or even gain employment.

At ECL we work with you to identify your goals and put together a tailored plan unique to you. One of our team will assess the level of support you need, and prices will be based on the recommendations, along with how many sessions you would like to attend.
